Save the Bladder Campaign...is Working!

After months of treatment and numerous surgeries...the doctors told my Dad they got all of the cancer.  So he is CANCER FREE!  No radical cystectomy! Yay!  He now will have to continue his healthy eating habits...  (Smoothie drinks, barley drinks....and some other green drink that makes him gag.)  I am so relieved and happy.  He definitely needs to be around here a long time, making us all laugh.

Subject: Fast Sunday Favor

Dear family and friends

 Just an update on Dennis and a favor to ask you all. Three weeks ago Dennis had another surgery to cut out another tumor at the neck of his bladder after having a scope that showed the other tumors in his bladder had responded well from the BCG treatments he'd already had over the last three months. The pathology report that came back from the surgery showed the tumor had gotten down into the muscle and also there were two more places (one in the prostate and one in the urethra) that if left, were potential tumors. His doctor at the Huntsmans wants to try one last time to see if he can cut down below those spots and find healthy tissue. This will be the last chance to save the bladder. If it isn't successful then Dennis will need to have the radical cistectomy which is removing the badder, prostate, lymph glands and urethra. We would be so grateful to you all if you would take this coming Fast Sunday and remember Dennis in your fasting and prayers. We have faith that the Lord will strenghten and support us what ever the out come may be.  Love you all    Brenda
